Probationary Officers’ Course Intake 45 Successfully Completed at Diyathalawa
Diyathalawa — The Probationary Officers’ Course, Intake 45 of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), was successfully completed yesterday at the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Training School in Diyathalawa. The course, which commenced on 22 June 2026, provided foundational military training to cadet officers over its duration.
A total of 46 cadet officers — 18 female and 28 male — took part in the course and demonstrated outstanding performance in all training components. Training included intensive physical training, drill mastery, classroom lectures, demonstrations, and practical field sessions designed to develop leadership, discipline, and basic military skills.
The closing ceremony was graced by Major General APCR Premathilake RSP USP ndc, Director of the National Cadet Corps, who served as the chief guest and delivered the keynote address. Other dignitaries in attendance included Brigadier AKCS De Silva RSP ndc, the Deputy Director of NCC ; Colonel TSBR Fernando, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Training School; Lieutenant Colonel HMSK Herath, Commanding Officer of the 15 Battalion of the National Cadet Corps; and senior officers of both the NCC and the Volunteer Force Training School.
Cadet Officer JMAS Jayasundara secured first place on the merit list for Intake 45. The day concluded with a camaraderie evening attended by course participants and guests, marking the formal end of the programme.
