GUARD OF HONOUR ACCORDED TO MAJ GEN RMPSB RATNAYAKE ndc AT ALMA MATER
A renowned past pupil of Peradeniya Central College, Maj Gen Priyantha Ratnayake ndc was hosted a warm reception and felicitated uponhis promotion as he graced as the Chief Guest on the invitation of the Principal, Staff and the Past Pupils' Association of theCollege on 30 August 2024.
The Cadets of Peradeniya Central College and Mahanama Vidyalaya, Kandy accorded a Guard of Honour to this Senior Officer when hegraced the ceremonial occasion as the Chief Guest, making everyone standing in the college premises proud. Music for the parade wasprovided by the Oriental Band Cadet Platoon of Peradeniya Central College. Capt NMKGSN Bandara commanded the Guard of Honour and LtMGDTK Gunaratne performed as the Second in Command.
The Commanding Officer, Staff and the Officers of the 2nd Battalion were present at this colourful occasion.
National Cadet Corps has today spread to all parts of Sri Lanka with 29 boys battalion and 9 girls battalions involving over 3000 school and same 85,000 cadets and over 3000 officers in the senior and junior divisions of the corps. In the process of development through the years its objectives too have changed, not only its name.
