Under the Youth Exchange Programme among SAARC Countries 12 Cadets (06 boys and 06-girls) selected from 38 Battalions, Lt Col NCR De Silwa, Major SAB Samarasinghe and Major MWDMPK Bandara visited India to participate in the Republic Day Celebrations in New Delhi on 26th January 2017. During their stay in India they visited to National Museum of India, Deharadum, Indian Military Academy, City of Agra, Read Fortress, Taj Mahal, Jaipur, Rajasthan City Place, Kuthumbinar and Humayun’s tomb, the house of the Director General of India.

They also witnessed the Indian Army Day Parade, the hourse show and the Band display, the Guard of Honour for the Indian Minister of Defence, the Republic day parade and the Prime Minister's Rally conducted by Indian Government.

This has been a stimulating and vast experience to the Cadets from different parts of the country. They were able to take part in the cultural show with Cadets from Russia, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Buthan, Singapore, Vietnam, Kirikistan, and Maldives.

After the Completion of the Tour the Delegation paid their Gratitude to the Director NCC and the HQ staff on 08 February 2017. The Cadets were also awarded certificates for the participation.
